Maintenance Technician Primary Purpose: Performs construction, maintenance, repairs on commercial and residential property portfolio. Lead team members and/or subcontractors as needed on a variety of projects.
Maintains properties: must be highly proficient in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, & HVAC.
Operate equipment: skid steer, mini excavator, snow plow, dump truck/towing.
Troubleshoot and repair underground utility lines and collaborate with city/municipal officials.
Snow duty: Drive plow truck for snow duty early mornings, nights, and weekends.
Occasionally performs grounds keeping work, including grounds cleaning and landscaping.
Maintain and repair vehicle and small engines.
Performs preventative maintenance on tools & equipment.
Practices safe work habits and wears personal protective equipment as required.
Meet with customers and contractors to explain work needed, collect & negotiate bids, and oversee subcontractor’s work.
Maintains the presentation of the shop to keep it safe and clean.
Effectively and politely communicates with co-workers, tenants, and customers.
Completes and fulfills paperwork required for work orders and service requests.
Keeps records of vehicle and property maintenance.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements
Valid driver’s license: Clean driving and criminal records.
Must have knowledge of building codes, fire codes, building and civil engineering plans.
Remains “on call”, as necessary for tenant emergencies 24/7/365. On-call rotation.
Must possess leadership skills to lead, manage, and drive accountability.
Must be comfortable with a smart phone, email, and basic computer skills.
Good personal, writing, and communication, and leadership skills.
Prior experience in construction/maintenance fields.
